I ran across a popular Electronic Musician article that reviews acoustic drum samples from Big Fish Audio, EastWest, Roland, Sonic Network, Studio Cat Software and Sweetwater. The article states that there are probably more snare-drum hits commercially available than any other sampled sound, yet the list of acoustic-drum sample libraries continues to grow. Those this EM article is from 2003, it’s worth a read. It is still relevant today.

So what do you uses all these snare samples for? I’d use them with a drum placement plug-in and our multitrack loops.
