Cakewalk Sonar Experiences HUGE Flexibility with Multitrack Loops

With Ron and Arno doing all the creative work here at Total Control Audio, I decided to get in on some creativity fun. I’ve crafted a Cakewalk Sonar Multitrack Mix Template to show the flexibility of our multitrack drum loops. This templates takes some grunt work out of setting up a project, but the coolest thing about this template is that it demonstrates the HUGE flexibility of using multitrack drum loops. I ran across a popular Electronic Musician article that reviews acoustic drum samples from Big Fish Audio, EastWest, Roland, Sonic Network, Studio Cat Software and Sweetwater. The article states that there are probably more snare-drum hits commercially available than any other sampled sound, yet the list of acoustic-drum sample libraries continues to grow. Those this EM article is from 2003, it’s worth a read. It is still relevant today.

My brother turned me on to a new book/DVD Mixing the Hits of Country: Music Pro Guides by Dave Martin

This is a cool concept. Dave guides me step-by-step through mixing exercises that are illustrated with screenshots and charts. He discusses why certain techniques just work. Hey Dave’s kick drum even has two mics just like all our Total Control Audio multitrack drums! I think this book is an excellent reference for everyone using Total Control Audio drum loops.
